More1. Which health and fitness clubs can I use?

We’ve teamed up with many facilities across the UK. These include companies that you may have heard of – such as Nuffield Health and Fitness and Wellbeing centres, Livingwell, Curves, Spirit and Fitness Express – as well as a number of independent centres.

More2. How much discount can I get?

The discount varies from club to club, but it could be as much as 25%.

More3. Do I have to be an Aviva policyholder to get the discounts?

Yes. You need to have an active insurance policy with Aviva. If you hold any of the following products, you are eligible to access Get Active: Private Medical Insurance (individual or company paid), a member of a Group Risk scheme, My Health Cash Plan, Income Protection (individual), Life Insurance, Critical Illness cover, Home Insurance or Car Insurance.

More4. What happens if I want to cancel my membership?

Your membership starts the day after you sign up. You can change your mind and cancel it within seven working days, as long as you haven’t used the club. This is called your cooling off period. If you decide to cancel your membership, any money you’ve paid during the cooling off period will be refunded. If you decide to cancel your application, you must notify your health and fitness club in writing or by email and, if completed, you will need to notify your bank to cancel the direct debit. If you don’t cancel your application during the cooling off period, you will be contractually bound to your health and fitness club for the duration of your membership as set out in your health and fitness club’s terms and conditions.

More7. Who is Health Force?

We work in association with Health Force to provide you with nationwide gym membership discounts. Health Force is a specialist provider of discounted gym membership. Established as a brand in 2001 Health Force pioneered online sales of gym membership and is still the only company offering online sales across a range of gym operators.

More8. How long will my discount last?

The website will clearly tell you how long your discount will last. These details will also be in the clubs’ membership terms and conditions. Discounts are generally valid for 12 months from the date that you join, but this can vary. The club will contact you prior to renewal to advise of any change to your discount or monthly payments.

More9. Is my personal information safe?

We take your security very seriously. We use firewalls to protect the information that’s held on our servers and also encrypt the personal information we send and receive from you.

Aviva Health UK Limited, Aviva Insurance Limited and Aviva Life & Pensions UK Limited are the data controllers of your personal information under the Data Protection Act 1998.

We will use your personal information for the purposes of registration, service provision, record retention and investigation of any complaints. We promise that we will not use your information to inform an underwriting, claims liability or other insurance decision.

More11. If I/or my company move to another provider, do I still get the discounts?

You must be our customer, or be covered by an active insurance policy from Aviva to sign up for these discounts. But your contract is between you and the relevant club, so it will be at that club’s discretion as to whether you will continue to receive the discount.

More12. Who collects my membership fee?

When you sign up via the Aviva Get Active website, you will be required to pay an initial fee. The initial fee is 1 month’s or 2 months’ membership (depending on the club) plus any admin / joining fee where applicable. Your details will then be forwarded to the relevant club, which will ask you to sign a Direct Debit Mandate when you go to the club for your induction.

All you need to sign up is your gym reference code. You can find this in your policy documentation with the details of the Get Active offer.
